"The gale howled in from the south. It was a windy day even by Kansas standards. My two previous attempts to fly had been foiled as the wind ripped the cardboard wings from my twelve-year-old hands. A roll of duct tape soon remedied the problem, and I again steadied myself at the top of the hill. That day marked an important milestone in my life. It was the first time I flew as a Captain—and the last time I crashed."

Philip Donlay learned to fly at age seventeen and was first published at eighteen. In the aviation world, success came quickly and he's been flying jets since he was twenty years old. Whether flying a Saudi sheik, nighttime freight, or executives of a Fortune 500 company, Donlay has logged nearly six million miles while spanning the globe to 40 countries on five continents. Donlay burst onto the literary scene with the publication of his first two novels Code Black and Category Five. He divides his time between Minneapolis and Northern Virginia, and when he's not flying or writing thrillers, he can be found in the most remote parts of the world, kayaking, fishing, and exploring.
